An intake session for outpatient psychotherapy is the initial meeting between a client and a therapist, designed to gather essential information and establish a foundation for the therapeutic relationship. This session allows the therapist to gain insights into the client's needs and collaboratively develop a treatment plan tailored to the individual's unique circumstances. It sets the tone for future sessions and helps both the client and therapist determine if they're a good fit for working together toward the client's well-being and personal growth.
